Summer's Here!
Here are a few basic safety tips for the coming season.
|
- Fireworks are illegal in Pennsylvania. Items defined as “ground and hand-held sparkling devices”, “novelties” and “toy caps” in American Pyrotechnics Association (APA) Standard 87-1 are not currently regulated by State Law; therefore, their sale and use are permissible. Click on the link below to view the Pennsylvania State Police web site regarding frequently asked questions about fireworks.

- Summer also means yard work. When mowing, keep small children out of the yard, and turn the mower off if children enter the area. If the lawn slopes, mow across the slope with the walk-behind rotary mower, never up and down. With a riding mower, drive up and down the slope, not across it. Never carry children on a riding mower.
