Infested Ash Tree burning is OK
In cooperation with the PA Department of Agriculture and the USDA, Cranberry Township allows open burning of yard waste to dispose of ash tree wood infested with Emerald Ash Borer Beetles. Infested wood may not be transported from its original site and should be burned as soon as possible.
If you plan to burn, please contact the Township Community Development Department with the date and time of the planned burn. This information will be forwarded to the Police and Fire Departments. No fees or permits are required, however, fires should be at least 50 feet from any structure and continuously attended until they are extinguished. At least one 4-A fire extinguisher or other approved on-site fire extinguishing equipment must be available for immediate use.
To register a tree burn, or ask questions, contact: Community Development, 724-776-4806, x 1104.
